Villa Rocchetta is located in the center of a large park and is offeredfor rent to the public in its entirety for periods of at least 5 days.The building is spread over 3 floors: on the ground floor there are the reception rooms, the study, the dining room, the kitchen and the utilityrooms, as well as an original bathroom from the 1930s; a wonderful wooden and wrought iron staircase, created by the master Mazzuccotelli, leads tothe first floor which includes 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.; on the secondfloor are the large billiard and game room, with a splendid view of thepark, and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.Villa Rocchetta was built between 1920 and 1923 on the agricultural landof an eighteenth-century farmhouse, called il Bordone, at the behest ofthe Milanese industrialist Giovanni Gussoni who intended to use it to host friends during hunting trips. The design and construction were entrusted to Aldo Andreani, a well-known architect of the time belongingto the current of eclecticism.The building has the characteristic "butterfly" plan and is similar to amedieval fortress enriched by a multiplicity of architectural elements and decorations of different characteristics and styles: from the Arab-Norman pink marble columns to the fragment of a nineteenth-centurywooden chalet on the facade; from the late medieval arches to the prehistoric monolith inserted to support a window.Even the interiors are a masterpiece of the 1920s, one of a kind, whereeverything is studied in detail to optimize space and light. The architectural-building materials used in the construction ordecoration of the villa (wrought iron, glass, wood, concrete) are enhanced through special shapes and innovative solutions.
